THE EXTRAORDINARY LIFE AND TIMES OF

STRAWBERRY

NATURAL RESOURCES DEFENSE COUNCIL

Of course we were thrilled to get a call from the NRDC to help out with some spots about food waste.  These brilliant spots created by director Martin Stirling, use stop motion photography to follow one beautiful strawberry through it’s eventful life; from birth, leaving its home in the fields for the big city, falling in love, and ultimately being adopted and going home with a young family.  The tragic ending illustrates what goes wrong in our food system, but you’ll have to watch the spot to find out what happens.

Our challenge was to find music to tell this story, scoring all the emotional peaks and valleys of the incredible journey, from love scenes to death.  We improved upon the existing sound design, and polished the whole to feel like a cinematic feature, all in 2 minutes.
